Major League Baseball is exploring the idea of allowing top-seeded playoff teams to choose their opponents for a postseason series, and CC Sabathia is among those who would love to see it.
Sabathia said on his podcast this week that he would take it personally if an opponent chose to face him in the playoffs, which is the exact type of attitude that would make the system great. The left-hander said he would welcome someone choosing to face him so he could “shove it up your a– now.”

MLB is exploring some radical changes, and allowing higher seeds to choose their opponent has been one of the more popular proposals. It would add to the drama of a series for obvious reasons.
We’ve already shared our plan to fix the MLB playoffs and regular season, and we’re on board with the idea of letting the top seed choose their opponent. Sabathia’s view on it is exactly why it would be so entertaining.
