Christian Yelich appears to confirm Home Run Derby bid
Christian Yelich seems locked and loaded for next month’s Home Run Derby.
The Milwaukee Brewers slugger responded to a tweet on Sunday by Barstool Sports’ Dan Katz saying that Pete Alonso of the New York Mets had the best shot to beat him in the Derby. Yelich appeared to confirm his participation in the event by saying simply, “Your fate will be decided in a few weeks.”

The reigning NL MVP Yelich has been an absolute fireball at the dish this season, hitting .345 with a league-leading 29 homers and 62 RBIs through 70 games. He has yet to compete in the Home Run Derby in seven MLB seasons.
With his violence on baseballs bordering on the historic, Yelich is obviously who the people want to see, but it would come with the inevitable questions of whether the Derby messes up a player’s swing in the second half of the season.
