Corey Kluber getting X-ray after taking line drive off pitching elbow
Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber was on the wrong end of a hard line drive hit by Brian Anderson in Wednesday’s game against the Miami Marlins. The ball hit directly off his pitching elbow moving over 100 miles per hour.
Kluber could not even hold his arm up after and used his glove hand to try to flip the ball.

Kluber left the game immediately and is getting an X-ray.
The 33-year-old starting pitcher has been in the top three in American League Cy Young voting each of the last three seasons, and won the award in 2017. He has been off to a rough start so far in 2019, with an earned run average of 5.81 in his six starts prior to the injury. He will be fortunate to avoid a serious injury with this one, and Cleveland’s fortunes could also ride on the results.
