Report: 1 NL team expected to make big moves before offseason ends

While the bulk of offseason business has been concluded, there are still talented players on the MLB free agent market. One team is reportedly viewed as a major threat to bring some of them in, too.

According to Buster Olney of ESPN, the Chicago Cubs are viewed by at least one rival evaluator as the team to watch for the rest of the offseason.

The Cubs are seen as the team most likely to make impact moves before the start of spring training.

It is unclear what sort of moves those could be.

One would expect the Cubs to make an effort to retain outfielder Cody Bellinger. Bellinger remains available after a remarkable bounceback season that saw him hit .307 with the Cubs. Reports have suggested that a reunion between Bellinger and the Cubs is increasingly likely.

The Cubs had been expected to take some big swings this offseason, but their biggest move so far has been the addition of Japanese pitcher Shota Imanaga.

Cubs fans have made no secret that they want more, and the team sounds willing to try to deliver.
