Report: Cubs have Jake Arrieta down for 20 pitches in Game 7
The Chicago Cubs are ready to empty the chamber now that the stakes are at their absolute highest.
Tom Verducci of FOX Sports told Colin Cowherd of The Herd on Wednesday that the Cubs have ace righty Jake Arrieta down for 20 pitches, if necessary, in Game 7 of the World Series after Arrieta approached pitching coach Chris Bosio saying that he would be ready to pitch.

Of course, Arrieta started Game 6 for the Cubs on Tuesday, earning the win after giving up two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings and throwing 102 pitches.
The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner has a 2-1 record with a 3.63 ERA and 25 strikeouts in four starts this postseason. Now ready to throw in relief on zero days rest, Arrieta will be the epitome of “all hands on deck” for the Cubs in Wednesday’s winner-take-all Game 7.
