The Kansas City Chiefs may turn to a familiar face to help shore up their depleted wide receiver room.
Multiple reporters confirmed Sunday that the Chiefs have been in talks with Tyreek Hill and his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
ESPN’s Nate Taylor spoke with a team source who shared that Kansas City has “remained in contact” with Hill on a potential deal before the 2026 season ends. According to The Athletic’s Michael Silver, the Chiefs “have already reached out” to Hill and Rosenhaus after wide receiver Tyquan Thornton suffered a serious ankle injury during Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
With Thornton now out indefinitely and Rashee Rice still dealing with a hamstring injury, the Chiefs will be down their top two wide receivers for the foreseeable future. How much of a solution Hill could be remains to be seen.
The 8-time Pro Bowl wideout is working his way back from the serious knee injury he sustained in September 2025. While Hill has looked good in his workout videos over the past few months, including his beach workout from just last week, it’s hard to imagine him looking like his All-Pro self anytime soon. Hill is expected to work his way back onto the field sometime in November.
Hill’s former Chiefs teammates have supported such a reunion, including defensive end Chris Jones, who publicly recruited Hill immediately after the Miami Dolphins released him in February.
