Dallas Keuchel says Phillies should be kicking themselves for not signing him

Dallas Keuchel

Dallas Keuchel has been hot over the last month, and his latest victim was the Philadelphia Phillies.

Keuchel struck out six and allowed just one run over six innings, picking up the win as his Atlanta Braves beat the Phillies 3-1 on Wednesday night. Atlanta has now won his last six starts.

After the game, Keuchel, who signed with the Braves mid-season, says the Phillies missed out by not signing him and should be regretting their decision.

Keuchel, like Craig Kimbrel, did not find a long-term deal to his liking over the offseason and decided to remain a free agent into the season. Once the MLB Draft passed, both players signed because teams no longer would lose draft picks as compensation for signing the two free agents. Keuchel got a 1-year, $13 million deal, which looks like a great investment. He’s 8-5 with a 3.35 ERA for Atlanta. Meanwhile, the Phillies have been throwing the likes of Drew Smyly, Vince Velasquez, Jason Vargas, and Zach Eflin. Plus they had Jake Arrieta get hurt.

Yeah, Philly probably wishes hey were in on Keuchel. They would probably be higher in the NL wild card standings if they were.
