Dave Martinez has great comment about his health after Nats win
Dave Martinez had a great comment about his health after his Washington Nationals won the World Series on Wednesday night.
The Nats came back from down 2-0 to beat the Houston Astros 6-2 in Game 7 and win their first World Series title in franchise history.
A month earlier, Martinez did not make a trip with his team to St. Louis to undergo testing after experiencing chest problems. He ended up undergoing a heart procedure in September.
During a clubhouse speech to his team after they won it all, Martinez said the team “cured” his heart.

Martinez, 55, was only in his second season as the team’s manager and already has won a World Series. That’s not bad for a guy who was viewed as being on the hot seat.
