David Ortiz and John Farrell were ejected during the top of the ninth inning during the Boston Red Sox’s 3-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Friday.
Ortiz was up with the bases loaded and his team down 3-2 with one out. On a 3-1 pitch, Andrew Miller threw a slider that was low and away. It was called a strike, leaving the Red Sox manager fuming. Farrell came out of the dugout upset and was ejected.
On the next pitch, Ortiz was punched out looking on a pitch that was very low and looked like a clear ball. He went back to the dugout very frustrated but then came out and charged home plate umpire Ron Kulpa.

If that 3-2 pitch were correctly called a ball, Ortiz would have gotten an RBI walk to tie the game. Hanley Ramirez struck out swinging for the final out, giving the Yanks a 3-2 victory.
