Dellin Betances’ rehab hits snag
Dellin Betances’ rehab has hit a snag.
The New York Yankees reliever was diagnosed with a right shoulder impingement during spring training and began the season on the injured list. He was working his way back and seemed to be destined for a return this month, but he encountered an issue during his simulation game this week.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday that Betances’ sim game did not go well and the pitcher is headed for an MRI.

This will likely delay Betances’ return to the team.
The 6-foot-8 31-year-old has been a valuable member of the team’s bullpen the past five seasons. He went 4-6 with four saves, 20 holds and 115 strikeouts in 66.2 innings last season.
