Dunkin Donuts mocked for their interesting spin on Red Sox playoff slogan
The Boston Red Sox have been getting some mileage out of their “Do Damage” slogan this postseason, but one of their official sponsors didn’t really think things through when putting their own personal spin on it.
As ESPN’s Darren Rovell pointed out during Game 2 of the World Series, coffee chain Dunkin’ Donuts has been handing out signs that say “Donut Damage.” It’s a fun little play on words, but…

If you look at the sign as three separate words, you can see where the issue arises. As expected, the internet had a field day with the questionable marketing campaign.
What do you not understand about the New England love for nut damage Mike

There’s a part of me that thinks this was unintentional, but the Bostonian in me thinks this was very intentional. #DoNutDamage https://t.co/Xo85CxnugI

Someone in marketing missed the ball on this one. #DonutDamage https://t.co/epZpAjXB8S

Maybe dunkin shoulda thought this one through a little more. Bostonians don’t have the mental maturity to handle “do nut damage” as a slogan. https://t.co/ZGNIuqFHZR

And you thought that flub from Dunkin’ Donuts after the Super Bowl was embarrassing? It would be a shock if they don’t change their ad campaign for the remainder of the World Series.
