Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is headed back to the disabled list.
The 34-year-old, who missed the start of the season after undergoing left knee surgery in October, battled renewed soreness in that same knee after returning and is now back on the shelf.

Pedroia played in just three games after returning from his first DL stint, going 1-for-11. It is unknown how long he’ll be out of action this time, but there’s no reason for Boston to be overly aggressive with him in his recovery.
It has not been a good week for star players coming off the DL. Hopefully this is the end of that trend.
