Dylan Cease had a minor snafu following his incredible start on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants.
Cease came close to authoring a no-hitter in the series finale at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Calif., but his bid for the historic performance came to an end when Heliot Ramos singled off him to lead off the ninth inning.
Nevertheless, the Blue Jays came away with a 10-0 victory, with Cease certainly deserving of a postgame interview.
Before that, Cease seemingly mistook a staff member for someone asking for a selfie in the dugout before realizing he was merely being directed to the interview.

But the real focus should be on the magnificent pitching job of Cease to help the Blue Jays thwart San Francisco.
He pitched for eight scoreless innings, giving up just a hit and issuing 3 walks, while recording 11 punchouts. He was let by Blue Jays manager John Schneider to chase a no-hitter, as the right-hander threw a total of 118 pitches (a career high) before getting replaced by Tyler Rogers.
Thus far in the 2026 season, the 30-year-old Cease owns a 6-4 record and 2.56 ERA, while leading the American League with 148 strikeouts.
