Clayton Kershaw inadvertently created a cool moment Friday night when he did the wave with Los Angeles Dodgers fans.
Kershaw’s unique wind-up involves him holding the ball in his glove over his head for a few moments before going into his delivery. That set up a moment during the fifth inning of Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium, when Kershaw went into his windup just as the wave made its way behind home plate.

This was not actually intentional, but it wound up looking pretty cool on television, and the video very much went viral on social media.
Not every pitcher likes the wave during games. Whether he meant to or not, Kershaw might have inspired some fans to try to copy this next time he pitches.
There is certainly no arguing with the results. Kershaw went five innings on Friday, allowing two runs with four strikeouts in a 6-5 Dodger victory over Washington.
