Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went all-out to help the Toronto Blue Jays build an early lead in Game 3 of their ALDS series against the New York Yankees on Tuesday night, and fans loved the effort the slugger showed on one particular play.
Guerrero scored from second on a single from Ernie Clement to give the Blue Jays a 4-1 lead in the top of the third inning at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y. Clement hit a ground ball through the left side of the infield, and it looked like Cody Bellinger might be able to throw Guerrero out at home.
Guerrero turned on the jets and ran harder than most people have ever seen him run. He then attempted a head-first slide into home, which was really more of a dive. Either way, it worked.

Unfortunately for Guerrero, the incredible dive was not enough for the Blue Jays — nor was the towering home run he hit earlier in the game. The Yankees came back from down 6-1 to win the game 9-6 and keep their season alive. The Blue Jays now lead the ALDS 2-1.
Guerrero has already done some incredible things for the Blue Jays this postseason. If they wind up making a deep run, his dive into home will certainly make the highlight reel.
