Francisco Lindor belts massive grand slam in NLDS Game 4

Francisco Lindor hits

Francisco Lindor delivered a massive grand slam for his New York Mets during Game 4 of the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y. on Wednesday night.

Lindor was batting with the bases juiced against Phillies reliever Carlos Estevez, who had entered the game in place of Jeff Hoffman. Hoffman had put the first three batters of the bottom of the sixth on base before getting an out on a fielder’s choice. The Phillies switched to Estevez, who then allowed a grand slam to Lindor to put the Mets in front 4-1.

Lindor ripped the 99-mph 2-1 fastball out to right-center for the lead:

That was Lindor’s first home run of the postseason, and it couldn’t have been a bigger one. He also had some huge home runs to close the regular season, making it clear that he is stepping up at important times.

The crazy thing about Lindor’s grand slam is he barely showed any reaction despite swatting such a massive hit in the game. Maybe he knew the game wasn’t over yet.
