Report: Giants, Tigers have talked JD Martinez trade
If the San Francisco Giants are looking for outfield help, they may have come to the right place.
According to a report by Jon Morosi of MLB Network on Tuesday, the Giants and the Detroit Tigers have talked recently about a J.D. Martinez trade.

The 29-year-old Martinez batted .307/.373/.535 with 22 home runs and 68 RBIs in 120 games last season. He is due to make $11.75 million in the final year of his contract in 2017.
The Giants have Hunter Pence manning the fort in right field, where Martinez has been primarily deployed during his time in Detroit. But Martinez does have 277 career starts in left field, where the Giants are facing some uncertainty with the free agency of veteran Angel Pagan.
Martinez, the former All-Star, is an impact righty bat but struggles to provide adequate defense in the outfield. With other areas of need also beckoning, it remains to be seen if the Giants are willing to part with some assets in order to land a player like Martinez, who very well could be but a mere rental piece.
