The Cleveland Indians have found a new idol to worship within their clubhouse, and it’s one that is familiar to many sports fans: Jobu.
Yes, the Indians have made a shrine for Jobu in their locker room between the lockers of Mike Napoli and Jason Kipnis. Paul Hoynes snapped a picture of the beautiful scene:

The shrine is apparently a fairly new development within the team’s clubhouse.
“We’ve had Jobu there for a little bit,” Kipnis told Cleveland.com on Tuesday. “He’s been working. He didn’t like the first airport vodka we left him. So we tried Bacardi (rum) and that seems to be working.
“Right now it’s working so we’re not going to mess with what works.”
Ah yes, as Eddie Harris could tell you, you do not want to mess with Jobu’s rum.
We’re obviously huge fans of “Major League,” so it’s only too perfect when players on the Indians are the ones making an ode to the film by honoring perhaps its greatest figure. Chase Utley did it once before to try breaking out of a slump, and what the Indians are doing seems to be working as they entered Wednesday’s play 10 games over .500.
