Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski had 10 strikeouts during his Tuesday start against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass., but there was one punchout he savored more than the other nine combined.
Misiorowski got it going early in his outing, striking out three straight batters in the first inning. The last came against Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras, who has become a controversial figure in the series after issuing a threat to Milwaukee following a hit-by-pitch from Brandon Woodruff in Monday’s opener.
Contreras got ahead early against Misiorowski with a 2-0 count after a curveball and a slider. Misiorowski then turned up the heat, firing three consecutive 100-mph four-seam fastballs to strike out Contreras.
After the final pitch, a fired-up Misiorowski immediately walked off the mound and was seen on the broadcast seemingly shouting profanities.

The 24-year-old Misiorowski loves showing emotion, and he wasn’t about to keep his excitement to himself after such an emphatic strikeout.
Contreras later got the better of Misiorowski with a single in the fourth inning before drawing a walk in the sixth, so perhaps Misiorowski’s celebration to end the first inning lit a fire under the Red Sox infielder.
Misiorowski exited in the sixth with 3 earned runs on 2 hits along with 4 walks in 5 1/3 innings of work. He picked up his first pitching loss of the season as Milwaukee lost to the Red Sox, 3-2.
