Jake Arrieta has transformed from a below-average pitcher in Baltimore to possibly the best pitcher in the entire league. Since being traded to the Chicago Cubs two years ago, the right-hander has taken his game to another level. In 2015, Arrieta rode a spectacular second half to an MLB-leading 22 wins, four complete games and three shutouts. As he has ascended to the top of his profession, there are naturally many questions about his personal life, such as whether he has a girlfriend. Well, the truth is he has a wife and he is a devoted family man.
Jake Arrieta’s wife is Brittany, and the two are high school sweethearts.
According to a 2012 Baltimore Sun feature on Arrieta, the two went to elementary school together in Texas, began dating as high school juniors, and even went to TCU together. The Sun says Brittany was an elite gymnast in Texas.

“You can’t explain him,” Brittany Arrieta said of Jake. “He is kind of his own breed of person.”
What does she mean by that?
“Off the field, he’s just the biggest goofball,” Brittany Arrieta said. “But anything he does in life, he does 100 percent. He does nothing halfheartedly.”
And that includes being a dad. Arrieta loves his son, Cooper, and Brittany says Jake was like your typical psyched parent and posted hundreds of photos of his child on Facebook.
He even got tattoos for Cooper and Brittany:
