Jayson Werth hilariously frozen on 57-mph curveball (Video)

Jayson WerthChicago Cubs pitcher Carlos Villanueva broke off a 57-mph curveball on Jayson Werth Wednesday that left the Washington Nationals outfielder more frozen than Ted Williams’ head.

Werth clubbed a 3-run home run earlier in the game, so no doubt Villanueva wanted to pitch him carefully in the at-bat. He threw him two called strikes to go up 0-2, then a ball, and Werth flied out to right on the fourth pitch. But damn, did Villanueva ever have him fooled on that super slow curveball. Werth’s response was awesome. Guy just stood there like a statue. The only funnier pitch reaction we’ve seen was Miguel Cabrera waving at a pitch from Yu Darvish earlier this season.
