Jazz Chisholm Jr. got an injury prognosis from the New York Yankees this week that left him stunned.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday that Chisholm has a high grade strain of his oblique. The Yankees infielder is expected to miss at least 4-6 weeks. Boone told reporters that Chisholm “couldn’t believe it” when told about how much time he would miss.

Chisholm remained in the game and later hit a triple before being removed. On Friday, he was placed on the injured list retroactive to April 30.

Chisholm is batting .181 with a .714 OPS in 30 games this season, which is his first full season with the Yankees after beginning his career with the Marlins. Though he played third base for the Yankees last season, he has played second base this season.
