Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow must love a cheap thrill.
On Friday, a suspect message appeared on Luhnow’s verified Twitter account singing the praises of the St. Louis professional baseball team.
Go Cards

The grand irony here, of course, is that the Cardinals were recently involved in a prominent hacking scandal where they allegedly breached the team database of Luhnow’s Astros and stole confidential internal information. While Luhnow, himself a former scouting department member in the Cardinals organization, was adamant that the St. Louis hackers did not gain access thanks to his use of old passwords, what a riot it would have been if Luhnow indeed got his Twitter account compromised by a Cardinals sympathizer.
For better or for worse, this ultimately proved not to be the case. Luhnow let the social media firestorm brew for some 13 minutes before tweeting a follow-up clarifying that it was, in fact, him who posted the original tweet and that the Cardinals are playing the Texas Rangers, an AL West divisional rival of the Astros, this weekend, indicating that he meant what he said.
Relax! it was me..in case you didn't know the Rangers are playing in St Louis this weekend so yes, for this weekend it's Go Cards!

Nothing more to see here, folks. Just add this to the list of all the dank memes spawned by this improbable scandal.
