
Jimmy Rollins, now in the twilight of his career, has agreed to a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.

The 37-year-old struggled mightily for the Dodgers in 2015, hitting just .224 with a .285 OBP as age appeared to catch up to him. With Alexei Ramirez out the door, however, they had a hole at shortstop that was to be filled by youngsters such as Tyler Saladino. Clearly, Chicago wasn’t comfortable with that arrangement, and Rollins will likely have every opportunity to win the starting job. He can even manage a little bit.
