Joe Maddon compares Christian Yelich to Bears superstar
It’s safe to say that one key for the Chicago Cubs in Monday’s NL Central tiebreaker will be minimizing the damage done by Christian Yelich.
The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder is the likely National League MVP, and Cubs manager Joe Maddon. That’s why he had quite the comparison when assessing Yelich and the Brewers’ lineup on Monday morning.
Joe Maddon compared hot hitting Christian Yelich to Khalil Mack: “You always have to know where he is.”

It’s safe to say Mack changed the Chicago Bears’ defense when he was acquired from the Oakland Raiders. Yelich, picked up in a trade with the Miami Marlins last offseason, has certainly impacted Milwaukee’s lineup in a big way, too.
The Brewers have won seven in a row, and Yelich is hitting .400 with five home runs in that span. His season is already historic, and it could have turned out legendary if things were just a little bit different. With the stats for Monday’s tiebreaker counting toward regular season totals, it still might.
