Joey Votto makes amends after run-in with fan (Video)
For the second time in a week, Joey Votto’s behavior towards a fan came into question. Luckily this time the Cincinnati Reds first baseman tried to repair relations and was successful in doing so.
Votto went into the stands to try making a catch with two outs in the top of the seventh of Tuesday’s Reds-Cardinals game. Unfortunately Votto was not able to make the grab as he was somewhat competing with a Reds fan for the ball. Frustrated over failing to make the play, Votto then grabbed the fan by the shirt logo.
But the story doesn’t end there.
As this video shows, Votto made amends by posing for a photo with the fan, apologizing for his behavior, and sharing a personalized signed ball.
That was nice of Votto to make up with the fan especially since he shouldn’t have blamed the spectator for missing the ball. Votto also probably felt some pressure to make good after this story emerged last week.
