Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista was a target of a lot of jeering from Royals fans in Friday’s game one of the American League Championship Series, stemming from his much-discussed bat flip in Toronto’s series clinching victory over Texas.
At the end of the fifth inning, Bautista had apparently heard enough from the Royals faithful in right field, and decided to get back at them in the best way possible: by trolling them with a fake baseball toss.
Bautista doesn’t even bother capping it off with a playful grin or a nod. He just turns and jogs back to the dugout, stone faced. How cruel.
The Royals fans can take solace in the fact that, at least on this night, they had the last laugh. Kansas City blanked Toronto 5-0.
