During the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, the Royals held a 3-1 lead over the Blue Jays. Toronto, of course, still had the eighth and ninth innings to tie the game or take the lead and avoid elimination. However, the above graphic was shown, which prematurely put Kansas City in the World Series against the Mets.
Perhaps fittingly, Jose Bautista came up to bat in the top of the eighth inning with Ben Revere on first base and hit a home run to tie the ball game.

Shortly after, rain began to fall forcing the grounds crew to bring out the tarp. During the delay, Joe Buck issued an apology on behalf of FOX. By that point, the damage was already done and not many people had much interest in hearing what Buck had to say.
That was one lame ass apology by Joe Buck. #BlueJays #ComeTogether

@FS1 #joebuck come on man. Your apology is weak and too late

That was a rather clumsy apology from Joe Buck for the wrong promo graphic for the World Series. #BlueJays

Joe Buck with the weak, partial apology / non-apology, weird explanation for the screen graphic!
