San Francisco Giants pitcher Logan Webb lost his cool during his postgame media session following Friday’s 2-0 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, but not in frustration at any reporters.
Webb’s media session was interrupted by an audibly loud fart from an unidentified source. The pitcher left no doubt that it wasn’t just a squeaking chair as he struggled not to laugh while answering questions, and finally just owned up to the reason for his amusement.
“I’m sorry, guys. Farts are always funny, not gonna lie,” Webb said.

"Farts are always funny, not going to lie."

The identity of the individual responsible for the gas was not made available. Webb clearly knew, but chose to protect their identity.
This sort of thing happens from time to time, though it is not usually this blatant. Former Jaguars GM Trent Baalke was accused of breaking wind during a press conference last year, but that sort of instance provided some plausible deniability, since he was just sitting in a chair. ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky had perhaps the most questionable excuse when he was caught in his own gassy moment — allegedly, anyway.
Webb was a tough-luck loser on Friday, as he took a defeat despite allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out 12 over six innings. Fortunately, this moment brightened his day at least a little bit.
