Lou Trivino had priceless reaction after A’s lose on misplayed ball
Lou Trivino had a priceless reaction after his Oakland A’s lost on a walk-off hit to the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night due to a misplayed ball.
Trivino entered the game in the bottom of the eighth and struck out Albert Pujols to strand the bases loaded. He got two outs to start the ninth in a 9-9 game before allowing a hit to Brian Goodwin, who stole second. That brought up Dustin Garneau, who hit a fly ball to the warning track. The ball looked very playable, but Robbie Grossman was playing in and had to run a ways to get there. He misplayed the ball, so it landed and went over the fence for a game-winning ground rule double.
Trivino couldn’t believe what he was watching.

Poor guy. Grossman let him down on that play. That ball should have been caught to keep the game tied.
Instead, the Angels won 10-9, and shaving the beard didn’t do much to turn Trivino’s luck.
