Detailed information is beginning to trickle in about Tiger Woods’ car crash and subsequent arrest.

The pro golf icon Woods was involved in a rollover wreck in Jupiter Island, Fla. on Friday afternoon. A photo from the scene showed Woods’ vehicle, a black Land Rover, laying on its side after the crash.

We later learned that Woods was arrested in the aftermath of the wreck. According to the Martin County Sheriff, the 50-year-old Woods was hit with DUI and two other charges.

On Friday evening, Mark Schlabach of ESPN shared the latest information about the Woods situation. Schlabach revealed that Woods was driving northbound on South Beach Road at a high speed not far from his home on Jupiter Island. Woods reportedly attempted to pass a truck hauling a pressure cleaner, which had slowed down to turn into a nearby driveway.

The 15-time major champion Woods reportedly swerved to avoid the truck but ended up clipping the back of the trailer and flipping his Land Rover, which slid down the road. Woods then managed to exit the vehicle by climbing out of the passenger’s window (though neither he nor the other driver were said to have suffered any injuries).

Schlabach further reports that the responding police officers did a breathalyzer test on Woods, which did not show any signs of alcohol. However, Woods reportedly refused to submit to a urinalysis test for other drugs and was ultimately arrested.

Woods was then taken to Martin County Jail, where he was set to remain for eight hours under Florida law. You can read Schlabach’s full report on the situation here.

For Woods, who has not played competitive golf since 2024, he already has another DUI arrest in his past. Back in 2017, Woods was also arrested for DUI in Jupiter Beach after falling asleep at the wheel of his vehicle. Subsequent toxicology tests would reveal that Woods had five substances, including THC, in his system at the time of the arrest. Woods later blamed the 2017 incident on taking a bad mixture of medications.
