The Maxx Crosby saga isn’t over until it’s over.
After his trade to the Baltimore Ravens broke down controversially, the Las Vegas Raiders defensive end remains a big name in the NFL offseason. There is still the lure for other teams to kick the tires on a possible trade for the five-time Pro Bowler.
During Wednesday’s edition of “Get Up,” ESPN NFL reporter Kimberly A. Martin adamantly said that a Crosby trade will happen, and it’s just a question of when such a transaction will happen.
“It’s a matter of — the big question is ‘when’. It doesn’t seem like ‘if’ he’ll get traded. Because even though the Raiders said ‘Maxx is a Raider,’ guess what they did: they traded Maxx Crosby,” Martin said.
Considering that Las Vegas had pulled some strings and made moves, with Crosby’s trade to the Ravens factored in, Martin said it just makes sense for the Raiders to try to move the talented pass rusher somewhere else — again
“And they also traded him and then made a bunch of moves, spent a lot of money to upgrade the roster with certain pieces, thinking that Maxx Crosby was off the books,” added Martin. “We have a long offseason, it could go until the trade deadline, it could go until the draft. But a lot of people expect him to not be a Raider for much longer.”
Whether he gets traded or not before the start of the 2026 NFL season, Crosby is already among the definitive figures of this offseason. His failed trade to the Ravens will not soon be forgotten and could have underlying ramifications for Las Vegas’ future.
The 28-year-old Crosby has 69.5 sacks and 278 solo tackles with 11 forced fumbles in 110 games in the NFL, all with the Raiders, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
