Marcell Ozuna fakes everyone out on Will Venable home run (Video)

Marcell-Ozuna-loses-ballMiami Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna lost a fly ball in the lights during Tuesday night’s loss to the San Diego Padres. It has happened to some of the best players in baseball over the years, so there is nothing Ozuna should be ashamed of. Well, maybe a little bit.

The thing that made the ball Ozuna lost track of so unique is that it flew over the fence for a home run. Apparently he thought San Diego’s Will Venable got under the ball a bit when he made contact, but it wound up landing several rows deep into the right field bleachers. Ozuna fooled everyone by camping under the ball — or so he thought — for a solid six seconds before realizing what had happened.

As this Giants outfielder could tell us, losing a home run ball in the lights is hardly the worst thing in the world.
