Matt Harvey gives honest assessment of his past few seasons

Matt Harvey

A lot has changed for Matt Harvey since the end of the 2015 season. Once regarded as one of the game’s best pitchers, he’s now on his third organization and struggling to recapture the old magic.

Now with the Los Angeles Angels, Harvey offered a pretty scathing assessment of his work over the previous three seasons.

Matt Harvey, candidly speaking on his last few years: “I’m disappointed in myself.”

— Fabian Ardaya (@FabianArdaya) February 13, 2019

In the first 65 starts of his career with the New York Mets, Harvey posted a 2.53 ERA. In 68 games since, it’s 5.39, and he ended up settling for a one-year, $11 million deal this offseason to play for the Angels.

Harvey has also been accused of causing problems for himself off the field as well. His assessment of himself is definitely on the nose.
