This baseball season is going to be unlike any other in history, and that means we are going to be seeing some unusual things, such as young players getting unexpected big-league experience. One such player who could end up doing that is Max Meyer.
Meyer was the No. 3 draft pick in this year’s draft out of Minnesota. The 21-year-old pitcher has already signed with the team and will be part of their 60-player pool, Craig Mish reported on Wednesday.
The Miami Marlins have officially signed 1st round draft pick Max Meyer per sources. He will be added to Miami’s 60-man player pool and join the club.

The roster rules for the shortened season are different this year.
Teams will begin with a 30-player maximum roster that will drop to 26 later in the season. They have their standard 40-man rosters, but they will also have 20 additional players to comprise the 60-man Player Pool that they can draw upon if needed. Teams will have players training at the Major League ballpark and also at an alternate site, which will likely be at a minor league facility.
Meyer had an incredible 46 strikeouts in 27.2 innings at Minnesota prior to the season shutting down. He was 10-7 with a 2.07 career ERA at Minnesota.
