Melky Cabrera robs Kris Bryant of home run (Video)
Kris Bryant came into Monday tied for second in the National League with 25 home runs. Early in the Cubs’ game against the White Sox, it looked as though he would have No. 26. Melky Cabrera had other ideas.
In the top of the first inning, Bryant jumped on the first pitch he saw from Miguel Gonzalez and drove a fastball to left field. Cabrera tracked the ball towards the wall and made a leaping catch to bring it back into the yard.
Cabrera didn’t just make a great grab. Positioning himself with his back against the wall for a few seconds before holding up the ball to show he did, in fact, come down with it was excellent as well. Cabrera entered the game second on the White Sox in hits this season, but on this occasion he showed he can also take them away.
