Mets looking for pitching depth as injuries mount
It’s less than a week into the season, but the New York Mets are already looking for help in coping with a series of pitching injuries.
General manager Sandy Alderson admitted Wednesday that the Mets are already seeking pitching help with three concerning injuries flaring up early in the year.
Sandy Alderson says the Mets have started "to sniff around" the market for additional starting pitching depth, given their injuries.

It’s never a good sign when you’re looking for help this early in the season. Noah Syndergaard’s blister looks minor, but Steven Matz has been shut down with a flexor tendon issue and Seth Lugo has a partially torn UCL. It’s no wonder they’re worried, especially when a series of pitching injuries held the Mets back in a big way last year.
