The New York Mets are already looking forward to the offseason so they can begin rebuilding their roster, and they may be hoping they can unload some more players before the Aug. 31 waiver trade deadline.
The Mets recently placed reliever Jerry Blevins and third baseman Wilmer Flores on revocable trade waivers, and both have reportedly cleared. That means any team can make a trade offer for either player, and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic expects the Mets to move both if there is interest.
#Mets LHP Jerry Blevins cleared revocable trade waivers, a source tells The Athletic. IF Wilmer Flores cleared previously, as @JoelSherman1 reported. Presumably NYM would trade both if teams show interest.

Blevins could be easier to deal, as he will likely cost less. The 34-year-old has been a reliable reliever for the Mets for the past three seasons, and contending teams like the Boston Red Sox are still in search of bullpen help. Blevins has a 3.86 ERA in 54 appearances this season. He made 75 appearances last year and 74 in 2015 and posted a sub-3.00 ERA in both seasons.
Interestingly enough, the presence of Flores is one of the reasons the Mets cited for not calling up their best minor league prospect. The 27-year-old is hitting .274 this season with 11 home runs and 48 RBI.
