Report: Mets no longer looking to trade Noah Syndergaard
The New York Mets have decided they are going to keep Noah Syndergaard at least through the remainder of the 2019 season.
After they engaged with several teams in trade discussions surrounding Syndergaard, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets pulled the right-hander off the market on Tuesday night.

Syndergaard is under team control through 2021, and the Mets were only going to trade him if a team blew them away with an offer. They were seeking MLB-caliber players in addition to top prospects in any deal for the 26-year-old, and it sounds like at least one team was willing to offer a decent package.
The Mets entered Wednesday five games back in the NL wild card race, so their playoff hopes are still alive. While Syndergaard has a 4.10 ERA and is having somewhat of a down season, a starting rotation featuring him, Marcus Stroman and Jacob deGrom would look pretty intimidating if New York finds a way to sneak into the postseason. All three are under team control for 2020 as well.
