Mike Napoli wanted Indians to celebrate by going to Las Vegas

The Cleveland Indians are four wins away from capturing their first World Series title since 1948, but Mike Napoli doesn’t want to wait that long to go all-out with the celebration.

After his team finished off the Blue Jays in Game 5 of the ALCS, Napoli wanted to take the long way home from Toronto. According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, who witnessed all the clubhouse fun, the veteran slugger tried to rally his teammates to go to Las Vegas.

“Let’s take a plane to Vegas!” he shouted.

“That’s the next one,” team president Chris Antonetti replied.

Still not satisfied, Napoli tried to rally others to go along with his plan.

“Seghi,” he said, addressing Indians traveling secretary Mike Seghi. “[Expletive] this! Let’s go to Vegas!”

“Hey!” Antonetti said. “That’s the next one. We already talked about this. We’re stopping on our way back after we win.”

“Awwwww,” Napoli replied. “You’re getting me excited.”

The Indians are waiting to find out if they will play the Chicago Cubs or Los Angeles Dodgers, so Vegas could end up being on the way back if its the latter. While the team has already overachieved, they’d still like nothing more than to finish the job.

As this lovely young lady could tell you, Napoli enjoys a good time. It’s no surprise he can hardly wait to get down in Sin City.
