Mike Trout had a cool offer for the baseball coach who unknowingly criticized him over Twitter.
On Sunday, a Twitter thread went viral after hitting coach Matt Lisle shared a video of Trout taking a swing in a batting cage. Lisle jokingly played the video off by saying, “My friends’ son needs help. Any tips/suggestions?”
Someone didn’t realize it was Trout in the video and began to critique the swing, saying the batter is likely a .150 hitter. Trout’s Twitter account took note.

The three-time AL MVP wasn’t completely put off by the tweet though. One of his sponsors took advantage of the moment and used it to gain publicity. They had Trout’s Twitter account reach out to offer Old Hickory Bats gear to the coach.
Keep loving the game @EvansvilleDevi1, gotta appreciate you caring about kids and the game!! DM me an address so I can get this @OldHickoryBats gear your way 👍🏼💪🏼 pic.twitter.com/uXYMTpXzIr

That’s very cool.
What’s best is the coach said they reached out to Trout in response to the offer and that Trout now has a “fan for life.”
We did, he's an amazing guy and definitely has gained a fan for life

That’s a nice example of a potentially bad exchange turning the right direction.
