Mookie Betts had 3-word message for Dodgers fans after winning World Series

Mookie Betts had a 3-word message for Los Angeles Dodgers fans after the team beat the New York Yankees 7-6 on Wednesday night in Game 5 of the World Series to win the championship.

The Dodgers were down 5-0 at Yankee Stadium, but they came back to tie the game with a 5-run fifth inning that was aided by some awful defense from the Yankees. The Yankees reclaimed the lead in the 6th, but the Dodgers scored two in the 8th to take the lead for good.

Betts had two RBIs in the game, including an RBI sac fly that gave his team its first lead of the game.

After the game, Betts was interviewed by FOX’s Tom Verducci about winning the World Series. He talked about what the Dodgers did to get the win and also had a message for Dodgers fans about the team’s upcoming parade.

“We coming, LA,” Betts said.

What’s the big deal?

The city of Los Angeles did not allow the team to have an official parade in 2020 due to health and safety concerns when the team won the World Series in the shortened year. This time around, the Dodgers will finally get to celebrate winning a full-season championship, and the fans will be in the middle of it all on Friday in Los Angeles.

If you don’t count the shortened-season championship, this is the Dodgers’ first real championship since 1988. The team and its fans are ready to celebrate.
