Washington Nationals outfielder Jacob Young just cannot stop making highlight catches.
Young made headlines on Sunday when he made what should be the unanimous Catch of the Year against the New York Mets. The center fielder had a warning track ball pop out of his glove, kicked it into the air with his right leg, and somehow caught it cleanly for an out.
One day later, the 26-year-old brought his circus act to Atlanta, Ga., as Young’s Nationals visited the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. With one out and one on in the bottom of the fifth inning, Braves batter Ha-Seong Kim tested Young with a hard line drive to shallow center field.
Young got the perfect jump to make a play on the low liner. The third-year pro slid to scoop up the ball, but once again had it squirt out of his glove. He juggled the ball into his off hand to make the catch, securing the second out of the inning in acrobatic fashion.

On the one hand, Young seems to have a problem keeping balls in his glove. Both of his highlight plays were a result of his failing to squeeze the ball properly. But on the other hand, it’s blessed fans with two incredible plays.
Young’s catch on Monday does not have much of a case for Catch of the Year like his first one did. But it’s surreal that he’s done something similar two days in a row.
Fans may need to tune into the next Nationals game to see which body part Young uses next.
