Noe Ramirez and Brad Ausmus have received suspensions as punishment for the Jake Marisnick beaning on Tuesday night.
Ramirez nailed Marisnick with a pitch up and in that hit the Houston Astros outfielder between the shoulder blades during the sixth inning of the Los Angeles Angels’ 7-2 win. The hit-by-pitch was viewed by most as retaliation for Marisnick injuring Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy in a home plate collision on July 7.
Benches and bullpens briefly cleared, though the matter did not really escalate. Marisnick even told his teammates to calm the situation down, as if he expected to be hit.
Even if Marisnick was accepting of his fate, MLB felt differently.
They announced on Wednesday a three-game suspension for Ramirez and one-game suspension for Ausmus. Angels bench coach Josh Paul will manage Wednesday night’s game as Ausmus serves his suspension.
The Astros were not happy with the way the hit-by-pitch was executed. They felt it was intentional and did not like how high Ramirez went on Marisnick.
Jeff Luhnow on @SportsTalk790 earlier: "I think it's BS that the ball was thrown up. I certainly hope there wasn't intent. When there's a retaliation like that & the ball is thrown up, I do think there needs to be some price to pay — not from us but from Major League Baseball"

Astros manager AJ Hinch called the way Ramirez did it “bulls—.”
