Phillies reportedly agree to deal with Andrew McCutchen
Andrew McCutchen has jumped around to several new teams after spending the first nine years of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the latest stop in the former NL MVP’s journey will take him back to Pennsylvania.
Matt Gelb of The Athletic reported on Tuesday that McCutchen has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.

McCutchen, who turned 32 in October, has seen his production decline in recent seasons, but he still played in 155 games in his time with the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees last season. He’s a dependable player who has some pop left and his 20 home runs last year while batting .255. He should be a nice fit with a Phillies team that appears committed to loading up in every way possible.
