Photographer says Miguel Sano assaulted her
A photographer shared a story on social media Thursday in which she details how Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano assaulted her in a shopping mall in 2015.
Betsy Bissen posted a note on Twitter about her “me too” experience of sexual inappropriateness. She says that she had photographed a few Minnesota Twins game and was exposed to repeated unwanted advances from a first base coach, who eventually asked her for her phone number. What she says Sano did to her was much worse.
Bissen says she was at an autograph signing by Sano at a store where she volunteers in 2015. After he finished the autograph signing, he took her hand and essentially forced her to go to the Apple store with him and a few others. After that, he said he needed to use the bathroom. She pointed it out to him and says he then took her hand and tried continuously to force her into the bathroom with him. She says he tried to kiss her repeatedly and she physically resisted as he tried to pull her into the bathroom.
“No, he didn’t rape me, but he sure did assault me,” she wrote. “When I said no, it should have been the end of it. He should have respected that and stopped. Instead he hurt me and kept going.”
Here is her whole story:
This is not easy for me to share, but I feel I need to share it. This is my story. #metoo pic.twitter.com/PM6g6YuABf

Trevor Plouffe, who played with the Twins from 2010-2016, saw Betsy’s story and reached out to share how sorry he was over what happened to her. He says he wishes she would have reached out for help.
I’m so sorry about this. I understand why you didn’t, but I wish you would have come to me.
