Pirates shut down Jameson Taillon over elbow pain
Jameson Taillon’s horrible injury luck continues to prevent him from taking the mound.
Taillon, who has not pitched since May 1, has been shut down again due to continuing elbow pain and will see a doctor next week.
Jameson Taillon started to feel pain again in his elbow. No longer throwing. Going to see a doctor next week. Does not sound good.

Taillon’s entire career has been marred by physical issues, preventing the Pittsburgh Pirates hurler from reaching his potential as a quality starter. He had Tommy John surgery in 2014 and missed 2015 with a sports hernia. In 2017, he missed time after a cancer diagnosis. In 2018, his first healthy season spent fully in the majors, he posted a 3.20 ERA in 32 starts.
Taillon has missed the bulk of the season with an elbow flexor strain. It appears unlikely he’ll be returning anytime soon.
