The 25-year-old Taillon, a former top prospect, has gone 7-5 with 3.36 ERA and 115 strikeouts in 24 starts for the Pirates over the last two seasons. We saw a fairly prominent NFL player overcome a similar diagnosis a few years ago, and our best wishes go out to Taillon for a smooth and speedy recovery.
