Rafael Devers was robbed of a home run during Saturday’s Boston Red Sox-Houston Astros game due to the roof at Minute Maid Park.
The retractable roof was closed for the game due to the heat in Houston. In the top of the second inning, Devers blasted a ball to right field off Brad Peacock. The cameras lost track of the ball because it hit a girder in the roof.

Devers ended up with a double instead of a home run and finished the inning stranded at second.
The game was scoreless until the sixth when Houston pushed a couple runs across to go up 2-0.
Devers’ ball that hit the roof ended up with a big scuff mark.

That has to be the ultimate kick in the pants. You crush a ball that you think is gone for a sure home run and you end up with a double. Brutal.
