Rhys Hoskins’ new helmet gets meme treatment
Rhys Hoskins is going with the “safety first” look as he makes his return from a recent jaw injury, and it’s leading to quite the reaction from social media.
The Philadelphia Phillies phenom was back in the lineup on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers and sported a helmet with double protective flaps.

“Let’s roll” says Rhys Hoskins, wearing a custom-made helmet with protective flaps on both sides that make him look like a cross between a NASCAR driver and a Jetsons character.

Hoskins, who was just activated from the 10-day disabled list with a fractured jaw he suffered when he fouled a ball off his face, got the last laugh though — he homered, singled, and drove in three runs on the afternoon. As such, something tells us that his new helmet is probably here to stay.
